Our Cottages:

Take a walk on the Black Mountains

Public footpaths criss cross the Herefordshire countryside – including Holt Farm and its neighbouring farms. In one direction its an easy stroll across the fields into the village and the picturesque Bridge Inn, a 16th century riverside inn and restaurant set beside the Escley brook. Relax in a hot tub on your return.

In the other direction the path rises  up to 1100 feet above sea level and over into the Craswall valley with stunning views of the Black Mountains where the Welsh Border and Offa’s Dyke pathway combine.

Walk over from Hay Bluff via The Cats Back to Craswall, take in  the award winning White Haywood Farm Restaurant, a licensed restaurant serving home grown food in a 400 year old barn.

At Holt Farm we have many walking books with local routes, maps and access to Walking World to plan your days out on the hills.

Here are some local walks for you to download – laminated copies are in your cottage.  Michaelchurch Escley WalkMichaelchurchescley, Snodhill WalkSnodhill, Peterchurch WalkPeterchurch, AbbeyDore EwyasHaroldAbbeyDore,  Hardwicke WalkHardwicke, Dorstone WalkDorstone,
