Hay On Wye and The Hay Festival

Within an easy and very picturesque drive is the market town of Hay-on-Wye, 7 miles from Holt Farm.

Hay is now more than just an all year round attraction to delight readers! Hay On Wye also offers a range of excellent cafes and pubs with restaurants, fine antique shops and an antiques market as well as gift shops, menswear, outdoor gear, boutiques and galleries!

As well as the towns attractions there are a wealth of outdoor pursuits available locally; pony trekking, fishing, canoeing, hang gliding, and cycling to name a few.

See www.hay-on-wye.co.uk for a full range of adventures and  contacts.

The Telegraph Literary Festival each May turns the tiny town into a city boasting over 80,000 visitors.

“For 27 years Hay Festival has brought together writers from around the world to debate and share stories at its festival in the staggering beauty of the Welsh Borders. Hay celebrates great writing from poets and scientists, lyricists and comedians, novelists and environmentalists, and the power of great ideas to transform our way of thinking. We believe the exchange of views and meeting of minds that our festivals create inspire revelations personal, political and educational. Hay is, in Bill Clinton’s phrase, ‘The Woodstock of the mind’.”

Amazingly there are 10 other festivals and shows in the town, including Hay-on-Wye Food Festival, Hay Arts and Crafts Festival, Hay-on-Wye Horse and Pony Show and Hay-on-Wye Winter Food Festival.
